v0.12.0

Upgrading to 0.11

Four things behave differently, and none needs a code change unless you read entries yourself:

  • entry.error is an object. A failed request stores a CapturedError — kind, message, status, … — instead of the response body or a string. The body is on error.response. Anything that read entry.error from an export has to follow it there.
  • Saved logs are cleared once. Logs written by earlier versions are discarded the first time 0.11 opens the database. Panel preferences are kept.
  • Docked panels push the page. A panel docked to an edge reserves that side with inline padding on <html> rather than covering the app, and no longer closes on an outside click. position: fixed and sticky elements are not moved by padding — opt them in with --blix-dock-top, -right, -bottom and -left, e.g. right: var(--blix-dock-right, 0px). See Finding your way around.
  • Shortcuts only act inside the panel. Single-key shortcuts no longer fire while focus is in your app; Ctrl/⌘ + backtick still toggles the panel from anywhere.

If you name Blix's types in your own code: MonitorPrefs gains required topH and leftW, and DockMode gains "top" and "left".

A tab that is still running an earlier version of Blix on the same origin holds the saved log open, and the upgrade waits for it — see When nothing is being saved.
